“ Who Should Cut My Hair For SMP?”

Updated: Apr 18, 2023

At Scalp 1 Micropigmentation, we understand that hair loss can be a sensitive issue for many men. That's why we are dedicated to providing a comfortable and effective solution for our clients with scalp micropigmentation (SMP).

One of the most important steps in the SMP process is shaving the head. This may seem daunting for some, but it is a necessary step to ensure the best results. During the SMP procedure, our skilled practitioners deposit small dots of pigment onto the scalp, creating the illusion of a closely shaved head. Any existing hair can interfere with the final result, which is why it needs to be shaved off prior to treatment.

To make the process as easy as possible, we offer our clients the option to shave their head at home or have our practitioners do it for them at our clinic. During your consultation, we will discuss which option works best for you.

If you choose to have your head shaved by our practitioners, it allows for a more accurate blend of the SMP with your natural hair. This creates a seamless and natural-looking result that you'll love. As a general guideline, we recommend shaving the hair low, similar to a buzz cut, before your SMP session.

We understand that this may be a big decision for some, but we are here to guide you through every step of the process. Our team is dedicated to providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for all our clients. Trust in our expertise and let us help you achieve the look you desire with scalp micropigmentation.
